BMHS Unaffiliated Shows for 2010

All of the above shows are run by South West Ponies - web site www.southwestponyassociation.co.uk or contact Mr Richard Broad on 01934 633 304 or e-mail richardatswpa@aol.com.

Please remember to take your Points and Measurement Card to every show otherwise you will have to be measured. It is a DEFRA regulation that all equines travel with their passport, so both Points and Measurement Card as well as passport should go to every show. Please inform the measurer if a horse that you have entered is not competing on the day.

Please note that if you are competing in Horse of the Year Show qualifying classes that your vaccinations must be up to date, or you will not be permitted onto the show site.  It is in fact a rule on many shows that we attend, especially County Shows that vaccinations must be up to date and whilst todate this has not been checked at any of the other shows that Miniatures have attended, you should note that the show organisers are within their rights to ask to see the vaccination record which should be in the horses passport which accompanies them.  We therefore strongly advise you that you have your horses vaccinated before the commencement of the showing season.

If you are planning to compete at Royal Windsor, it is a very long walk from the lorry park to the rings, and so you should make provision to take all the horses that you are competing with to the ringside and have sufficient handlers to hold them at all times,  as the collecting ring is extremely busy, and it would not be safe to leave any horse unattended at any time.

In addition to the affiliated shows we are delighted that many other shows are planning to hold open classes where any Miniature horse will be able to qualify for our unaffiliated  championship classes at our Breed Show on the 4th September 2010.  We cannot list all these shows at the moment but will add the details to our web site as they become available to us and will also e-mail details to all showing members.  If you know of anyone who is not a member of our Society, but who may like to attend these classes, please pass on the details.
