Encore Championship
The Encore Championship takes place in the evening performance at the International Breed Show held at Stretcholt, Bridgwater, Somerset. It is open to 1st and 2nd prize winners from all the HOYS qualifying classes at shows during the current season.
Horses that have won a HOYS ticket at one of these shows are NOT eligible to enter this Championship.
There are no entry fees for this championship and the prize money is as follows:
Champion £100
Reserve Champion £60
2nd Reserve Champion £40
Eligibility
Except the horse which has won the HOYS ticket, all 1st and 2nd prize winners in every HOYS qualifying class are eligible for the Encore. If, later in the season, these prize winners also win a HOYS ticket they are no longer eligible for the Encore. Therefore, a horse may be eligible right up until the very last HOYS tickets are won, classes for these are held in the morning session at the Breed Show. Thus, these final HOYS ticket winners are no longer eligible for the Encore Championship that evening and their name is removed from the start list.
